In tea ceremony practice, there is a special autumn practice in October called nakadoki ”中置き”(literally “center placement”). In this arrangement, the kettle is placed closer to the guest than the fresh water container, creating a sense of warmth.
In November, the setting changes to the ro ”炉”, so this practice allows us to savor the lingering charm of autumn before the full transition into winter
